By visiting, opening, registering or using a RemitLand Account or submitting your Personal Information (as defined below) to us by any means, you are giving your consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy (this "Privacy Policy"). If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please exit our Site and do not provide Personal Information to us.
Notice: The RemitLand Website (as defined in the Customer Agreement) is intended for use by eligible persons. By using this RemitLand Website you certify that you are at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly or intentionally collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, do not submit any Personal Information on The RemitLand Website. If you are under the age of 18 and have submitted Personal Information to the RemitLand Website, please contact us to have this information removed at admin@remitland.com.
Any terms capitalized but not herein defined shall have the meaning ascribed to it in the RemitLand Customer Agreement.
Information We Collect
We may collect information about you when you visit the RemitLand Website or use our Services, including the following:
When you register to use our Services by establishing a RemitLand Account or profile, we will collect Personal Information as necessary to offer and fulfill the Services you request. Depending on the Services you choose, we may require you to provide us with your name, address, telephone number, email and identification information to establish a RemitLand Account. We may require you to provide us with additional Personal Information as you use our Services.
Personal Information means personal information that can be associated with an identified or identifiable person. "Personal Information" can include name, address (including billing and shipping addresses), telephone number, email, payment card number, other financial account information, account number, date of birth, and government-issued credentials (e.g., driver's license number, passport, and Social Insurance number).
When you use our Services or access the RemitLand Website, we collect information about the transaction, as well as other information associated with the transaction such as amount sent or requested, Device Information, Technical Usage Data, and Geolocation Information.
Device Information means data that can be automatically collected from any device used to access the RemitLand Website or Services. Such information may include your device type; your device's network connections; your device's name; your device's IP address; information about your device's web browser and the internet connection being used to access the Site or Services; Geolocation Information; information about apps downloaded to your device; and biometric data (e.g., Touch ID/Fingerprint to verify your identity).
Geolocation Information means information that identifies with reasonable specificity your location by using, for instance, longitude and latitude coordinates obtained through GPS, Wi-Fi, or cell site triangulation. Some of our Services may ask you for permission to share your current location. Some of the Sites and Services require this information to provide a specific product or Service. If you do not agree to our collection of the geolocation information, our Sites or Services may not function properly when you try to use them.
Technical Usage Data means information we collect from your phone, computer or other device that you use to access the RemitLand Website or Services. Technical Usage Data tells us how you use the RemitLand Website and Services, such as what you have searched for and viewed on the RemitLand Website and the way you use our Services, including your IP address, statistics regarding how pages are loaded or viewed, the websites you visited before coming to the RemitLand Website and other usage and browsing information collected through Cookies.
Information from Third Parties
We obtain information from third-party sources such as data providers and credit bureaus, where permitted by law. We may collect additional information from or about you when you communicate with us, contact our customer support teams or respond to a survey.
How We Retain Information
We retain Personal Information to fulfill our legal or regulatory obligations and for our business purposes. We may retain Personal Information for longer periods than required by law if it is in our legitimate business interests and not prohibited by law. If your RemitLand Account is closed, we may take steps to mask Personal Information and other information, but we reserve our ability to retain and access the data for so long as required to comply with applicable laws.
How We Share Information
We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. We do not share Personal Information with third parties for their own purposes, but may share usage data and other information. Your information may be disclosed to comply with legal process; to third-party service providers performing services on our behalf; to financial institutions we partner with to provide the Services; with other parties involved in processing your transactions; with your consent for marketing purposes; with our affiliates (who must honour this Privacy Policy); and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
International Transfers
Information collected under this Policy may be stored and processed in any country in which we or our affiliates or partners maintain facilities. We endeavor to protect your information in accordance with this Policy and with all applicable laws within each relevant jurisdiction.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to access your Personal Information which has been collected under this Policy. If you wish to access, challenge or amend your Personal Information, please contact us at admin@remitland.com and we will respond within 21 days. You have the right to opt out of receiving promotional materials, and the option to opt out of having your information shared with third parties such as our partners.
Security
We currently implement bank-level encryption and follow industry standards for safeguarding your information, including physical and technological security measures. Any employees with access to Personal Information are trained and aware of the importance of maintaining the security of your Personal Information. Given that this information is collected over the internet, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the "Last updated" date of this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the RemitLand Website after a revised Privacy Policy is posted constitutes acceptance of the changes.
